Hackney born DJ Al Grey has been collecting vinyl from the age of 13 when he use to go without lunch just so he could buy a 7inch 45 to add to a collection he had inherited from his father. He fascination with vinyl started from watching his dad play records on the family blue spot gram.

Al's musical journey to the radio airwaves started in 2009. Born in Washington DC, it was at a very young age that he developed his musical tastes and interests from his father who listened to all genres of music.

Born and raised listening to Soca music, it has always been my first choice of genre to represent and play to the masses. As a Senior Broadcaster Journalist, I have had many opportunities to travel around the world and experience various music styles

He was a regular in the allayer circuit and DJ all over the UK.DJ live-streams started during the pandemic just to keep in touch with my family and friends. Currently he enjoys radio shows, live streaming and club DJing for special events only. One love to all music is the key to life. Soul – R&B – Funk – Jazz Funk – Reggae – Dancehall – Lovers Rock.

My love for music began in childhood where growing up in the Caribbean household partying and music was the norm. This foundation developed during my teens where I joined my school friends in a sound system which we went onto name Kalimba.

 I Started My Music Career When I Left School and Started Working for Sound Division Hire based in Islington, Selling DJ Equipment and Hiring Out Sound Equipment.

I was born and grew up in N.W London (UK). I grew up into a very musical Christian family and have loved music from birth.  I have been DJ’ing for over 30 years now and I started presenting a radio show on a community radio station back in 1994.
