My love for music started from birth my key influences came initially from my father’s vinyl collection and his love for music.

Dad collected and listened to a diverse range artists; Ramsey Lewis, George Benson, Nancy Williams, John Holt, Frank Sinatra, Bob Marley & The Wailers just to name a few !

Another very strong influence was from my Great Uncle Byron Smith whom was a founder of SKA music back in the early 60s working as a Principal

Sound Engineer for Treasure Isles Records JA.

At the age of 8yrs I got my first piano and started learning to play classical music. This allowed me to develop my musical abilities, both vocally and visually.

This allowed me to develop an appreciation for reading and playing and instrument fluently.

Being around reggae sounds & the club scenes in Birmingham during the early 80s and later being involved backstage at Jazz festivals and concerts internationally with some major artists; Natalie Cole, Anita Baker, Seal and Keith Sweat just to name a few, inspired my burning desire to immerse myself into music.

In my later years I lived and worked in Bermuda, Miami Holland and Italy which opened and expand on my love for music from Reggae, Soca and Jazz in Bermuda, Miami Bass beats & Hip Hop in Miami to the techno & melodic fusions of House variations to Old Soul sounds in Italy.

During the recent pandemic/lockdown of 2020 created time for me to explore my musical journey further. I decided during this time to purchase a DJ kit and get start with the help and support of my DJ friends, become a DJ.

Summer 2020 I got started and uploaded my first mix on Mixcloud. This is where DJ JuCee really started.to blossom ….

Early 2021 I joined GYRadio as a presenter where I currently entertain and share my love of music to the world via GYR online radio station, streaming also on Vybez Urban Radio- Huddersfield.

My musical genres include: Reggae, Soul, rare Grooves, Funky House, Hip Hop, Neo Soul and Afro Beats.

For the future I plan on streaming live on various social platforms, playing live in small venues. I am currently looking/open to collaborations with other DJ’s,

Fashion and Beauty brands as well as working on my own DJ JuCee branding.
